IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS DURING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC

To all NRR Rowers:

After careful thought and consideration, we, as a board, have made some decisions about our summer programs and want to share them with you.

As you know we already cancelled our Spring Youth Program.

We are following the guidance from Federal, State and local agencies including the CDC and USRowing. In particular, social distancing is a priority for us.

On May 1, we opened for rowers who have signed up for a private boat membership only. The private rowers will use their own boats, oars and slings and will be assigned racks 6’ apart to allow for the social distance requirement. Any club boats on site may not be used until further notice. We have frozen all other program sign ups on Regatta Central and will only allow private boat rowers to register.

All other on-water programs are suspended until further notice.

This is a very fluid situation and as the guidance changes, we will continue to make decisions regarding the rest of our programs. We ask you to be patient and continue to look for our email and website updates.

As of now, we have no estimate when we will be able to offer other programs or any lessons.

The health and well being of our rowing family and our community have and will always be our top priority.

Anyone who has already registered for a program or membership and has further questions can contact Maria at nrroperations@gmail.com

Take care and be safe.

Kay Vilardi and all the NRR Board members

NRR Safety Guidelines during Covid-19 pandemic

  • All NRR youth on-water programs are suspended until further notice.
  • Member-owned singles only – It is not possible to insure virus-free equipment for shared club-owned boats and oars. It is also not physically possible to maintain social distancing of 6’ in multi-seat boats. Until Federal, State, and Local guidelines are relaxed, rowing is restricted to member-owned singles only.
  • Social Distancing – Social distancing of 6’ or preferably greater between individuals must be maintained at the NRR site. If there are multiple people on site, do not enter until social distancing is practical. No group meetings, lessons or sessions will be scheduled or allowed.
  • Member-owned equipment – To minimize the chance of virus transmission, member-owned boats will be dispersed across all available racks. It is also recommended that personal oars not be stowed on site and personal boat slings be utilized.
