2011 program descriptions (below) give you an idea of what to expect for the 2012 season.
New dates/times and other details will be posted the first week in March.

 ORIENTATION SESSION
WHAT THEY ARE:  A presentation (on land) covering NRR rules and policies, boat care and selection procedures, row-able weather and water conditions, and  navigating the Navesink River.  Emphasis is on safety and consideration for fellow rowers. 

WHO SHOULD TAKE THEM: Any NRR Member can.  However, Beginner Continuation members and first year NRR members MUST complete one before they can go out in NRR boats.

WHEN THEY ARE HELD: Scheduled upon request. 

HOW TO ENROLL: Contact Operations Manger, Susan Meltsner at 732-863-1321 or nrrnews@gmail.com.

FEE: Free with membership.

 REFRESHER SESSIONS
WHAT THEY ARE: Informal sessions to polish rowing skills that may have gotten rusty since last season.  A brief review of boat care and handling as well as other safety issues is followed by roughly one-hour of coaching on the water.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THEM: They are intended for NRR members who are relatively new to rowing (last year's beginners, for instance) or  who haven't been out in a season or two.

WHEN THEY ARE HELD: Scheduled upon request.

PRIVATE LESSONS - INDIVIDUALLY SCHEDULED COACHING SESSIONS

private_lesson1.JPGWHAT THEY ARE: With guidance and personal attention from expert NRR coaches, hone your skills, improve your technique, increase your confidence or train for competition.

WHO THEY ARE FOR: Any NRR member who wants to take them. (There is a fee.)

WHEN THEY ARE HELD: Individually scheduled

HOW TO ARRANGE TO TAKE THEM: Contact one of the coaches listed below and schedule a mutually agreeable day and time.

FEE: $40 for 1 or 2 rowers in singles or a double. $60 for a quad. Sessions are 90 minutes long, with roughly 60 minutes on the water.

Navesink Indoor Rowing!

Long time NRR member and Youth Coach John Crilly runs a winter program that will get you to KICK IT UP ANOTHER NOTCH!!!  The goal is technique,  strength and conditioning and to prepare you for all of the indoor rowing races in January/February. Check it out

Navesink Indoor Rowing is wholly owned and coached by John C. Crilly,  independent of the spring, summer and fall programs offered by NRR.
