MEMBERS' HELP WANTED
Current & Ongoing NRR Service Needs and Opportunities

Here’s a page of ways for you to help Navesink River Rowing continue to run smoothly and keep our rowers safe.  The list will be updated regularly, so if you can’t find anything you’d like to do today, come back for another look.  All activities – upcoming work parties and events, ongoing tasks, leadership roles, dockmaster shifts – count towards adult rowers’ 10-hour service requirement ( And yes, you can do more than 10!)

UPCOMING

BOATS AWAY WEEKEND
Saturday, November 5th - 8:30 AM - Noon (approximately)
Sunday, November 6th - 8:30 AM - before noon
Meet at NRR site

There’s a great deal to do. At least a dozen volunteers are needed. We would love to see more.

Work to be done over 2 days - Saturday, November 5, from 8:30 am until noon (approximately) and Sunday, November 6, from 8:30 am until finished - includes:

  • De-rig all boats.
  • Starting with quads and doubles, load boats onto trailer.
  • Along with helpers who are agile and able to lift and/or climb (about 6 of them), trailer boats to Middletown storage site and load boats into barn. Will take several trips, possibly over both days
  • Store rigging; secure oars.
  • Take launches out of water.
  • Take down boat racks.
  • Winterize site.

Rain Date?: We typically do this work rain or shine, but if weather is really bad, we will cancel Saturday and try to finish everything on Sunday.  Postponement notice will be posted on the website (top of the home page) by 7 am.
