Novice Youth Program
5 mornings a week for 2 weeks. Offered 4 times.
Introductory program for boys and girls ages 14-18 who have not rowed before. It teaches the basics of handling and safely operating rowing equipment both on and off the water.
Youth learn basic sculling in quads and doubles; fundamentals of body positioning and control plus basic blade work to lay the foundation for a solid sculling stroke. Price: $300
Meets 10:45 a.m to 12:30 pm, Mon - Fri

2012 APPLICATION
Intermediate Youth Program
4 days a week for 2 weeks. Offered 4 times.
Take one, two, three, or all sessions.
For boys and girls ages 14 to 18 who have completed an NRR Novice camp or other “learn to row” program with at least 8 sessions on the water and at least 2 of those sessions devoted to sculling.

This program builds on the sculling fundamentals of blade work and body positioning to teach youth how to take the same stroke consistently and together.Youth start to develop “boat feel” and begin to work together to replicate a solid stroke at low ratings, then building pressure and power to make boats accelerate.
Price: 1 session $250; 2 sessions $400; 3 sessions-$550; 4 sessions-$600

2012 APPLICATION
Advanced Youth Program
3 days a week for 7 weeks. Two sections.
For boys and girls ages 14 to 18 who have mastered skills taught in NRR’s Intermediate Youth Program and rowed in an NRR competitive (spring or fall) program OR who have rowed at least one season on a high school crew.
This program emphasizes teamwork, advanced drilling, mileage and competing for opportunities to race. Qualified participants - based on ability and experience - may be selected to travel to and participate in one or more summer regattas. Those chosen can expect to incur additional costs for regatta fees, travel and other expenses, which are not included in the Advanced Youth Program fee. Price: $500
Meets 6:45 - 8:30 a.m.
